Orantheio is the fire dragon in this small strange little family. He is only a few months younger than Sumora but so very different in so many ways. He was the prototype at the Robotics Department, Edwin, Khaly’s father, was in charge of. Unbeknownst to Edwin, Khaly had assisted a member of his team in building Orantheio. Khaly named him as well before she knew what it was going to do.
Much stalker in size, he has a wide chest and short legs, and a flat muzzle. He has zero grace and that is shown when he lumbers around. His steps are so heavy one would think they were living with elephants. His deep red body gives him a menacing feel, good to scare off enemies. Orantheio is extremely soulful and takes everything to heart. His preferred sleeping position is on Khaly’s chest even though he knows it makes it difficult for her to breath due to his girth. Although he is able to fly it is only for short bursts because his wings just aren’t strong enough to carry his weight. Walking is also something he seldom does on long journeys because his legs are just too short for him to keep up. So he happily allows himself to be carried on the back of his creator, Khaly. Outside of his fire breathing abilities, his special gifts are sleeping, eating, and surprisingly, catching fish.

With Mechanical Dragons: Fire & Water releasing January 1st, 2020 I thought I would give you a little insight to one of the main characters.
Nearly nine years ago Sumora was built. Her main purpose was to get passing grades for her creators, Bancroft and Khaly. Once Sumora was given her ancient Nylm name, she came to life. This deep blue colored dragon was no longer gears and circuit boards but rather flesh and blood. With this transformation into a living breathing being, she has developed her own personality. She is bossy, feisty, brave, loyal and extremely loving. Well to Khaly anyway. Sumora is the leader of the dragons and usually only answers to Khaly. Her skills as a huntress is unmatched by all and for many years she was the main provider of their food. Not much bigger than a cat, Sumora is able to go most places unnoticed when her wings are tucked in tight to her body. She prefers to fly whenever possible, but has the skill, speed, and stealth needed when on the ground. Sumora has two skills that she has honed over the years, her ability to make everyone feel uncomfortable with just a look, and her control over her water manipulation. |
